The recent sections written by The Guardian, AQI India and World Health Organisation accurately developed a link between air pollution and health of the residents. At The Bhiwadi Lab, we conducted a survey among the residents of Bhiwadi to understand their overall health conditions and check if it was triggered by air pollution. In 2021, Bhiwadi was named as the most polluted city in the world and hence, it would be obvious to find that people’s health is affected to some extent.

Around 83% people in Bhiwadi experience day-long laziness and feel unproductive at work. While 45% people are always sleepy and find it difficult to wake up in the morning, around 29% feel the same sometimes. Air pollution is directly linked with Asthma and heart diseases, because of which, a large chunk of families in Bhiwadi are affected by both. Around 40% of families have at least one patient of Asthma and one patient of a heart disease.
Even though health depends on multiple factors, air pollution plays a role in magnifying diseases. Moreover, the overall well-being of a person is affected in varying ways due to laziness, lack of concentration, drowsiness etc. which are mild implications of air pollution as per the studies by The Guardian, AQI India and World Health Organisation. Hence, it is essential to build government policies to mitigate air pollution in Bhiwadi at the earliest and create a healthy environment for people to thrive. It is equally important for the residents of Bhiwadi to be aware about the unhealthy air situation in their city which might be deeply affecting their health conditions.
